Jessica Booth goes above and beyond to engage students in innovative learning experiences. During her first year at YES, Jessica took the time to write grants to fund projects that support our STEM magnet mission. Using these funds, she started the recycling program at YES and created the Green Team. Under her leadership, this team of 5th grade students creates signage to teach our community how to recycle and supports the custodial staff by emptying the recycling bins in each classroom at the end of the school day. This student engagement trickles down to our youngest students as we all learn and strive to care for our school community and environment. Not only does Jessica lead the Green Team initiative, but she also sponsors Robotics Club, Maritime Club, and organizes our annual STEM night to further engage and connect our students to a supportive school community.
