We are incredibly grateful to share that Crossroads Community Church has partnered with Yorktown Elementary School to provide school supplies for all of our little Falcons for the upcoming school year!

Because of their incredible generosity, families will only need to provide:
🎒 A backpack
💧 A water bottle
🎧 Headphones that plug into your child's device

This partnership helps ensure that every student has the supplies they need to start the year ready to learn, grow, and succeed.

We are so thankful for the continued support of Crossroads Community Church and their investment in our students, staff, and school community. Their kindness and generosity make a meaningful difference for our Falcon families.

During SOL Review Season, our 5th graders took on the challenge of completing an IXL skill for every tested standard in each subject area. Students who achieved 100% completion in a subject earned the chance to choose between two exciting rewards: pieing Mr. Dodge or helping tape Mrs. Gavin to the wall!

As an extra celebration, any 5th grader who earned an Advanced Pass on their SOL also got to join in the fun!

We are incredibly proud of our 5th graders for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout the school year. These memorable moments were a fun way to celebrate their achievements and all they accomplished on their journey to success! 🎉🥧📚⭐️🙌

We are incredibly proud to recognize Anita “Rochelle” Jones and Melissa Marshall for receiving the STAR Award. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence positively impact our students, staff, and school community each and every day.

Rochelle’s strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment are deeply appreciated and never go unnoticed. Melissa’s unwavering support for her students, steady leadership, and passion for helping every child succeed exemplify the very best of education.

Both Rochelle and Melissa consistently go above and beyond in service to others, and we are truly grateful to have them as part of our Falcon Fam. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor — it’s a great day to be a Falcon!

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, the York County School Division will no longer permit students in grades 3-12 to use personally owned laptops for classroom use.

What an incredible evening at tonight’s School Board Meeting! Our students and staff represented Yorktown Elementary with excellence, pride, and heart as they shared about our Falcon Garden and the amazing work happening at YES.

We could not be more proud of the confidence, leadership, and teamwork our Falcons demonstrated tonight. Thank you to everyone who helped make this presentation such a success and for showcasing the very best of our Falcon Family.

We are officially in the FINAL stretch of the school year, Falcon Fam… and we’ve got this!

Only 17 more school days to go!

Seventeen more days of learning, growing, laughing, celebrating, and making memories together. This year has been filled with so much hard work, dedication, and heart from our students, staff, and families.

Let’s finish strong, support one another, and keep soaring all the way to the last day. We are a Falcon Family, and there’s nothing we can’t accomplish together!

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we simply want to say THANK YOU. 💙

This week reminded us just how blessed we are to be surrounded by such an incredible staff, supportive families, and a community that truly loves and appreciates our teachers. From the thoughtful treats and gifts to the kind words, surprises, and generosity shown all week long — we felt the love in every single moment.

To our amazing teachers and staff: thank you for the heart you pour into our students every day. Your dedication, compassion, patience, and commitment do not go unnoticed. You are the reason our school feels like family.

To everyone who helped make this week so special — thank you for celebrating our staff so well and for reminding them how valued they are.

Our hearts are full, and we are so grateful for an AMAZING Teacher Appreciation Week! 🦅✨

Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week was filled with so much joy, gratitude, and celebration for our amazing staff! 💚

We started the morning with a wonderful iced coffee bar provided by Waters Edge Church, which was such a thoughtful way to help our teachers and staff feel loved and appreciated. Midday, our admin team treated everyone to ice cream sundaes for a sweet surprise and a little extra fun during the day! ☕🍦

We also received a surprise gift from the VA Lottery, who donated lottery tickets for our staff — and we had LOTS of winners today! 🎉
