School Hours are 8:50 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.

The late bell rings at 9:05 a.m. All students arriving after 9:05 a.m. should be brought into the office and signed in by a parent or guardian. Your state ID is required.

If you need to pick your child up early, please plan to be in the office by 3:10. Students will not be called from class after 3:10.

Late arrivals and early dismissals interrupt important instruction time and should be kept to a minimum.

Your driver’s license or state-issued photo ID is required every time you enter our school!

Please call the main office at 757-898-0358 to let us know if your child will not be in school. Written excuses are required upon your child’s return and can be emailed to yesattendance@ycsd.york.va.us

Our nurse is Julie Thomas. The clinic phone number is 757-890-1036 and her email is jthomas@ycsd.york.va.us.

If medication is necessary during the school day it must be brought to the clinic by a parent or guardian in the original container with the appropriate label. A parental permission form must be completed and signed.

After a child has been sick, please do not send them back to school until they have gone 24 hours without a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Please use the YCSD health screening tool to determine whether your child is well enough to come to school.

Please make sure your child’s vaccination records are updated annually with our clinic.

If your child has any food or medicine allergies, please make it a point to discuss this with our school nurse.

Sodexo operated the cafeteria at YES. Breakfast costs $1.75 and lunch costs $2.85. Free and reduced lunch applications are available at https://www.myschoolapps.com/
