Just a friendly reminder, the YES Office is closed and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 8am.  

Yorktown Elementary School had an exciting visit today from the York Foundation for Public Education, who awarded several grants to support our school! Assistant Principal Mrs. Heather Roberts received a grant for Math Engagement Night, and Ms. Amber Collins was awarded a grant for her amazing composting project. We are so proud of the incredible work our YES staff continues to do for our little Falcons. Way to go, Mrs. Roberts and Ms. Collins! 🦅🎉

What an incredible night at the school board meeting! Our very own Amari Christian from Mrs. Cline’s 1st grade class did an outstanding job leading the Pledge of Allegiance, Clara Queen from Ms. Garrelt’s 5th grade class was honored with the Student Service Award, and Mrs. Laurel Garrelts was named Volunteer of the Month! Moments like these remind us just how amazing our Falcon family truly is—so proud of everyone! 🦅🎉

Ms. Bulanda received a grant from BayPort Credit Union today. Our 104 third-grade students will soon begin a Social Studies unit on economics, where they will explore topics such as needs vs. wants, producers and consumers, and economic choice.

To enrich their learning, we plan to create an interactive experience in which students act as producers by designing and making their own products for a classroom market. They will then take on the role of consumers, using a set budget to make purposeful purchasing decisions. This hands-on project will allow students to apply key economic concepts in a fun, meaningful, and engaging way.  Congratulations again Ms. Bulanda!
